For the past 2 and a half months that i have been away i’ve been at my brother’s side who was hospitalized for a serious health crisis. He’s back home & doing so much better now, continuing to heal and get everything back to 100%…which in itself is nothing short of a miracle. We have watched him be reborn. Out of the jaws of death, restored to joyous wondrous life. I’ve now nicknamed him “The Phoenix “. (Which has inspired a me to create new digital painting for him…) Considering what could have been, we have been so blessed. With each new smile and laugh shared with him, i feel an overwhelmingly great sense of gratitude and awe.
The human body, spirit and will are truly amazing things.
There is so much i could say on that and perhaps some day will in greater detail .. and on the astonishing acts of grace & benevolence capable between strangers, on the fragility of life and in general the necessity of treating our bodies well- for ourselves and all those who care for us and who we impact directly or indirectly daily, of telling and showing those you care for how much they mean to you and how special they are, of not putting things off because tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, and of consciously living each moment to the fullest with an ever present appreciation & recognition of this sacred gift we share of simply being here. now. alive. breathing. thinking. feeling.. able to experience all of life’s ups and downs.
I’d like to thank everyone who offered their prayers, support, well wishes and good energy to him and our family during this time. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses and everyone who played and continue to play a role in his recovery. I feel a debt of gratitude that is immeasurable.
Keep on healing little brother, I love you. ❤
P.S. Happy Earth Day!
