Ever heard of a “Hang” drum?

April 9, 2009

I hadn’t until earlier today. I’m an avid music fan, so i just love finding new things like this!

“In the Bernese language, Hang refers to the human hand, as in “hand-drum.” ”
It has such a beautiful sound and tone! It was developed in 2000 and seems to be a rarer instrument, as the only place to buy one is directly from the creators in Switzerland..  and with today’s currency exchange rates, it could cost ya a pretty penny. But for something as cool as this… i may have to start saving up, it looks like so much fun!

How to buy a hang drum http://www.hangfan.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=301 * Wikipedia says that you’ll have to contact them to get on a list to buy one, but that they are taking a break and will not begin to sell new drums until perhaps next year.
